“Hani was the perfect guide. Personable, knowledgeable and very friendly. She showed us and explained the diocletion palace and its origins and changes over the years and the way the palace is used today. But the best thing was the visit to the Green Market which was full of local produce that made you want to try everything! We had plenty of laughs and food along the way and we tried things we wouldn’t normally and found we like them! Would thoroughly recommend Hani as a way of getting to know the area and its customs. What a lovely morning 😁”

“Our history/food walking tour with Karmela was an absolute delight. Being a teacher and chef, she led us on a voyage of discovery that included historical sites and taste of the food of Croatia. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking to learn more about the country from those points of view. Our only caution would be to come with a big appetite.”

“Excellent, excellent, excellent! wholly due to our excellent guide, Maja Bilic. She is an archaeologist by profession and actually worked on the uncovering/restoration of the actual sites we visited! Maja provided vivid context to everything we saw and touched, bringing ancient artifacts to life with her professional explanations. It helps tremendously that her knowledge of history is impeccable, and could correlate the Diocleatian period with the overall history of Europe. Highly recommended!! Maja really transported us back 2000 years during the tour!”

“A great, personal experience. We cooked the Strukli at Karmela's house since the studio is undergoing work until July and it was perfect. She's very knowledgeable and patient, and the market tour let us try some national favourites. As a bonus, she even helped us book a restaurant she recommended for dinner and generally went beyond expectations.”
